Aaron Falk, writer for Salt Lake's Deseret News newspaper, writes a touching story about Lew the Barber, apparently soon to retire after 61 years of barbering, 51 of which were at the Little America Hotel in downtown Salt Lake City. And now his barbershop is being swept aside to make room for conference rooms.
One of his last haircuts was for an old man in a wheelchair. Lew the Barber ignored the man's comments about money and told him "It's a free one today." Go here to read the story to see who the old man was.
