The tracking details provided by HP gave me some idea about the complex logistics involved in shipping one laptop computer from Shanghai China to St. George UT, all timed to the exact minute:
Feb 18 2013 Monday
6:58 a.m. shipment information sent to FedEx
9:30 p.m. Left Fed Ex origin facility
Feb. 19 2013 Tuesday
Apparently my computer rested at the local FedEx facility in Shanghai

2:17pm international shipment import release Anchorage AK
2:53pm in transit Incheon KR. Are you kidding? How did we get from Anchorage AK to Korea?
4:47pm departed FedEx location Anchorage AK
8:48pm in transit Shenzhen CN How does China get back in the loop from Anchorage?

Holy cow! How much extra does outsourcing cost in extra cost of transport?
Hallelujah! Just as I typed the above sentence the doorbell rang and here was the FedEx guy with my Shanghai computer. Now to open the box and realize I am way over my head on Microsoft Word 2013, Windows 8, and a zillion new doodads. But it should be fun. Now I have 3 laptops lined up side by side until I get things straightened out. Wish me luck. Maybe I'm too old for this stuff and should go back to a Baby Brownie camera and a yellow pad and pencil. But here goes.
