A collection of distilled sarcastic wisdom, numerous photographs, discussions of books and stuff to learn and more stuff to think about from a retired economics professor turned blogger and photographer.
Thanks to my son Russell who chauffeured me around so I could take pictures of these frosty beauties. I've been a little restricted in getting around much so today was a special reward and the frosty trees all put on their best finery to show off for these photos.
I felt sorry for myself when I could no longer be in St. George during the winter taking pictures of flowers and beautiful plants, but my winter stay has opened an entirely new world of photography lessons and I am learning to appreciate the beauties of nature in all of its forms and patterns, and not just restrict my preferences to blooming flowers.
These two shots are perfect examples of why I love photography and why I keep taking hundreds of pictures every day. Once in a great while I can beat the odds for a so-so but industrious photographer and come up with an image or two that just leaves me sitting stunned after I download them and look at them on my computer. And then I thank whatever good luck led me to being fortunate enough to capture these two beautiful birds in two memorable photos that I am sure I will treasure the rest of my life. I hope you like them as much as I do.
